On Tuesday, Senator Levin, a chairman of the Senate Sub-committee that is investigating Goldman Sach’s involvement in collateralized debt obligations (CDO’s), grilled Goldman Sachs senior executives on their sales of Timberwolf I. Timberwolf I was a $1 billion CDO that collapsed. Carl Levin estimated that Goldman made about $3.7 billion from short positions in several CDOs in 2007, of which Timberwolf I was one of those.

After threatening to disconnect 500MW power supply to the RInfra’s consumers in suburban Mumbai, Tata Power is desperate to sell power at market rates in the power market; however, they are yet to be successful. MSEDCL has rejected their offer to buy power at market rates and has taken a firm stand of buying power from them, if only offered at the regulated rates and not at market rates.
